Enlisted: A Complete Guide for Gamers

9/28/2025

We’ve all had those matches where we got absolutely stomped by the enemy team, and those where our team stomped the opposition. Both experiences can be frustrating. The reason is simple: Enlisted has a ton of unique mechanics. If you start playing with just average Call of Duty or Battlefield experience, you’re missing out on half of what makes this game tick.

I’ve been there myself, and after more than 2,500 games, 750+ hours, and roughly an 80% win rate, I realized that sharing some knowledge could help new players—and even some veterans—perform better and enjoy the game more. I’m no guru, but applying a few of these strategies will make a noticeable difference.

Rally points and APCs are absolutely vital. Always start with a rally point and continue placing them throughout the match. Positioning matters: too close to contested areas, and enemies will hear the beeps and destroy it; too far, and your teammates won’t reach the fight in time. The ideal distance is around 70–80 meters from the contested zone. Protect your rally point with an anti-personnel mine and hide it creatively behind cover. Think of unusual positions that enemies won’t expect.

Marking enemies is one of the simplest yet most effective tactics. Use the “V” key to mark tanks, APCs, or clusters of infantry. Double-mark vehicles to turn their indicator red, making it easier for your team to focus fire. For pilots, marking is essential—once you’re within 2,000 meters, spam “V” to mark tanks, vehicles, and rallies. A pro tip: you can bind your mouse click to mark automatically. This trick can drastically improve your teamwork.

Your squad composition makes a huge difference. Always have an Engineer in every squad. For lower battle ratings, include a Radio Operator, and for higher BRs, bring an AT Gunner. Radio Operators aren’t just for airstrikes—they’re essential for artillery strikes. Place strikes slightly behind capture zones or on areas where enemies likely have rally points. Smoke artillery strikes can help when capturing open zones.

Taking out enemy tanks should be a priority. Always carry an Explosive Pack. Most tanks can be destroyed by hitting the side tracks, but heavily armored tanks, like the Tiger II H, require crawling underneath to deal real damage.

Flying a plane requires skill and prioritization. Target other planes first to avoid being taken down, then tanks, followed by APCs, and finally enemy infantry. Use your flaps strategically: combat flaps for fast, aggressive flying, takeoff flaps for slower turns, and landing flaps for precise descents. Use the map to track enemy planes and vehicles, and drop pins to help your allies coordinate attacks.

Controlling your AI squad is essential. The AI can be dumb if left alone, but you can command them using the “X” key. Handpick individual soldiers with “K” and switch with “L.” Wide formations help prevent clustering and unnecessary deaths.

Movement is key. Carry weapons with bayonets, axes, or swords and use stamina perks to sprint faster. Swift movement allows you to reach contested zones quickly and overwhelm enemies. Avoid charging through the middle—flank from the sides to split enemy attention. Watch replays to learn from mistakes and improve.

When using grenades, always “cook” them—pull the pin and throw only when ready to prevent enemies from throwing them back. Dress appropriately: helmets reduce headshot damage by 10%, and body armor helps too. Regardless, aim for head and torso shots. Recommended perks include increased vitality, faster medpack use, increased run speed, reduced firearm vertical recoil, faster building speed for engineers, faster weapon changing and reloading, and faster extinguishing of fire.

Always stay in the action. Don’t camp in the back—pressure the enemy and move constantly. Duck, crawl, and use cover to outsmart opponents. Aggression is good, but cautious aggression wins games.

When defending, the first seconds are crucial. Place anti-personnel mines to slow the enemy, fortify zones with barbed wire, sandbags, and hedgehogs, and build a rally point 40–50 meters behind the zone to regroup. When attacking, build a rally point and push together with your teammates, using flanking tactics to avoid heavy resistance.

Attacking behind enemy lines is high risk but highly rewarding. Flank far behind the contested area toward enemy spawns, listen for the beeping of rally points, and either destroy them or place an anti-personnel mine on top. Paratroopers make this easier, but timing and stealth are key.

Flying planes for bombing runs requires precision. Descend at about 45 degrees and release bombs roughly 200 meters from the target. Immediately ascend and adjust your flaps. Bind keys to control flaps and engine toggling for sharper maneuvers. Use rudder and pitch controls to make tight turns and maintain situational awareness with free look.

Finally, always learn from your mistakes. Watch replays of your games and study how skilled players operate. Understanding what went wrong—or right—will help you improve much faster.

There’s more to Enlisted than anyone could cover in a single guide, but following these tips will make a huge difference in your gameplay. Work with your teammates, stay smart, and gradually master the mechanics. With practice, patience, and a bit of creativity, you’ll find matches become more balanced, rewarding, and fun.
